The Recovery Quilt

Therapists Dan Perry, Eric Hardison, Melissa Ross, Susan Glover, Karen Hall and Justin Mangold gratefully display the completed Recovery Quilt outside the Farley Center at Williamsburg Place.

Recovery Quilts provide a “snapshot in time,” enabling patients to identify personal symbols of their own recovery and addiction.  Once displayed, others can see that out of the diversity of experience, a tapestry of recovery is created which is greater than the individual’s small piece of fabric.

Also a metaphor for experience in the 12 step program, it illustrates how we are all special, but we are not unique. The force for recovery is greater than any individual, but ultimately, it is each individual that creates the beauty of the whole.
