Drug Rehab, Alcohol Rehab for Doctors, Physicians, Nurses, Healthcare Professionals

Whether your specialty is psychiatry, family medicine, or emergency medicine, whether you're a solo practitioner or in multi-specialty group, clinic, or hospital, it doesn't matter. You see it every day. We all know addiction is this country's number one public health issue. It presents itself in a variety of ways and is disguised by many names.

  • Pancreatitis, Chronic Pain, or Cellulitis
  • Major Depression and Anxiety
  • Infectious diseases
  • Hepatotoxicity, or Abnormal Blood Indices
  • Domestic Violence, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Falls or Tremors,
  • Weight Loss, Weight Gain
  • Insomnia, Mental Illness, Suicide Attempts, Accidental Overdoses

The list goes on. We can stop there and make this the diagnosis, knowing full well that this is only a list of symptoms. The real cause - the actual diagnosis - is Substance Use Disorder: a chronic, treatable disease that will result in physical, psychological, mental and emotional damage and eventually death if left untreated.

You know the statistics. Addiction is the problem. Ten percent of the general population suffers from the disease of addiction, and the majority never recovers because they never get help.  Ninety four percent do not realize they have an illness

We know that treatment is efficacious. Patients recover here at the Williamsburg Place and the William J. Farley Center every day. Our clients come to us referred from their treating professionals in total denial that intoxicants are the problem. To them, drinking and drugging are the solutions to their life’s problems.

So why is it that the majority of addicted patients don't get help? There are a multitude of reasons. However, one of the reasons is that as front line heroes, the professionals treating patients in severe to moderate need of health care intervention don't know what to do with an addict.

Let us assure you that we do.

We are here to help you. We have answers and are prepared to deal with your addicted client, their families and all that goes along with it. Your job is to trust your instincts and do what you always do – your best. You simply provide them with our name and number and tell them the truth:

It is apparent that you are very ill. Let us arrange for you to be off from work for a while, allowing my staff to provide you with whatever you need to be put on a medical leave of absence. We need to rule out that you have not become physiologically dependent upon mood altering substances. I know a place where you can voluntarily check yourself in for a period of a week to ten days and there the leading experts in providing treatment for what might be your condition will help you develop the best plan for us to help you regain your health, your dignity and your life.

Then simply allow us to take over. It is helpful for you to make the referral and give us a "heads up". Let us know your impressions. By calling our admissions department, we can assist you in this referral. We can also arrange for you to talk directly with one of our expert physicians. Equally as important is for you to have the addict and/or his family reach out and ask for help from us. We will take care of answering all their questions. Your job is to make the referral and to then stay committed to your decision. It is your decision what you will do if this individual refuses your recommendation.

Please call Williamsburg Place today at 1-800-582-6066 or contact us via e-mail. Your call will be completely confidential.  Our trained, professional staff is available to answer any questions you may have.  The solution is here, just pick up your phone and contact us.
