WASHINGTON DC DRUG REHAB

This is the pulse of our nation, where laws are passed and important decisions are made with regards to our economy, society, and involvement in foreign affairs. This is the home of our President and other influential people, the center of politics, history, and culture. An urban territory surrounded by the lusher greens and salty bays of Virginia and Maryland, Washington DC is home to many and visited by even more. Often New York is referred to as the city that doesn't sleep. Washington, DC arguably could take that title.

It is the fast-paced, involved atmosphere of the nation's capital that may lead some professionals to give into drug and/or alcohol to the point of addiction. Despite it's geographical size and population as compared to other large cities, Washington DC is not without its drug abuse statistics. A 2002 study by the National Institute of Drug Abuse reported an increase of PCP users in the area while in 2005 a staggering 55% of vehicular fatalities were attributed to drunk driving. Working in the nation's capital can offer many high-stress situations, which in turn may lead some to find comfort and relief in drug or alcohol abuse. Health care professionals, government workers, lawyers and educators may soon find, however, that constant narcotic and alcohol use can impair their judgment, their physical and mental well-being. When those working behind the scenes in DC begin to falter, so too can the rest of the country unless something is done.

This is why Washington DC residents have sought the assistance of Williamsburg Place in neighboring Virginia. Just a few hours drive from the District of Columbia, Williamsburg Place offers safe and effective treatment from drug and alcohol abuse in a discreet location, and is close enough to allow family and friends to visit and take part in family therapy programs. Alumni of our detoxification and treatment sessions are always welcome to return and participate in social events.
